Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation

Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation is a community-led organisation proudly led by Arrernte people, dedicated to strengthening families and communities in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) through cultural healing, language, and traditional practices. Established to provide a safe and nurturing space for Arrernte people to come together, the organisation honours the wisdom of Elders and follows Arrernte law and culture to support wellbeing and cultural continuity.

Mission and Vision

The mission of Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation is to heal and empower Arrernte families by preserving and practising their culture, language, and healing traditions. It envisions a community where all Arrernte people are strong, connected, and proud of their identity, with access to culturally appropriate support and opportunities to thrive.

Main Objectives

• Support traditional healing through the work of Angangkere (traditional healers) and the preparation of bush medicine rubs.
• Strengthen family and community wellbeing by providing culturally grounded programs and services.
• Promote cultural knowledge transfer by facilitating activities on country and cultural camps.
• Empower Arrernte people to lead their own cultural, social, and political lives.
• Provide employment and training opportunities that are culturally relevant and socially meaningful.

The organisation primarily benefits Arrernte families and communities in Alice Springs and surrounding areas, including young people, Elders, and families needing support to maintain safe, strong, and culturally connected lives. It welcomes all Arrernte families and respects their active participation in the centre’s activities.
