Brisbane Multiple Birth Association Northside is a registered non-profit organisation established in 1977 that supports parents of twins, triplets and other multiples on Brisbane’s Northside. It serves up to 250 member families within a defined geographic area bounded by the Brisbane River to the south, Glasshouse Mountains to the north, Bribie Island and Redcliffe to the east, and Kilcoy to the west. Run entirely by volunteer parents of multiples, the association empowers families through peer-led socialisation, education and resources to navigate the unique challenges of raising multiples.

Main Programs and Services

• Regular playgroups, including hosted sessions at venues like Lollipops Playland Strathpine, member-led catch-ups at local playgrounds and cafes, and Multiple Mayhem every second Friday during school terms at Chermside for pre-school aged children.
• Expectant parent information sessions covering topics such as club services, zygosity, feeding and routines.
• Newsletters like “Multiple Cuddles & Chaos” delivered via email with event calendars, articles, member stories and tips.
• Social events such as play dates, morning teas, parents’ nights out and movie catch-ups.
• Big club events including end-of-year celebrations, train days, clothes and toy swaps, and Multiple Birth Awareness Week activities.
• Member-only Facebook groups for general support, buy/sell/swap and school-aged multiples.

Who Benefits

The association primarily supports new and expectant parents of multiples, along with their children, fostering connections among approximately 600 children at any time for play and peer encouragement.

How to Get Involved

Families can join as members to access benefits, with the organisation operated by a committee of around 24 volunteers, including an executive team. Membership enables participation in events and groups, building lasting support networks.
