ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF CAIRNS INCORPORATED

The ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF CAIRNS INCORPORATED is a community-based organisation dedicated to serving the Muslim population in Cairns, Mareeba, and surrounding areas. Established to support a diverse community of around 400 to 500 people from more than 14 different nationalities, the society plays a vital role in fostering religious, educational, and social cohesion within this small but vibrant Muslim community.

The society’s mission is to provide comprehensive support and services to Muslims in the region, ensuring their spiritual, educational, and social needs are met. Its vision is to nurture a harmonious and inclusive Islamic community that upholds faith, promotes understanding, and contributes positively to the broader society.

Main Objectives

• Facilitate religious practices by maintaining the mosque and organising prayers, including daily and special religious events such as Ramadan and Eid festivals.
• Provide Islamic education through classes and study sessions for men, women, adults, and children to deepen their understanding of Islam.
• Support community welfare by organising marriage ceremonies, funerals, and other essential Islamic services.
• Promote cultural and social integration among the diverse Muslim population and the wider Cairns community.
