Established in 1993 and ACNC-registered since 2012, the station broadcasts a diverse range of music genres including country, jazz, rock, classics from the 50s to 90s, and local news on 98.7 FM from Mount Coombermellon, reaching communities in Kandos, Rylstone, Ilford, Clandulla, Lue, Mudgee, Gulgong, and Glen Alice.

KRR operates as a fully volunteer-driven station, with over 35 volunteers presenting daily shows such as Breakfast programs, Country Folk, Rock & Boogie, Classical Mix, and specialised segments like Morning Market and News updates every hour. Overnight programming features the Community Radio Satellite service, ensuring continuous coverage. The station owns dedicated premises at 50 Angus Ave, upgraded through a Community Building Partnership Grant announced by Paul Toole in 2025.
