It operates as a registered charity with the highest Australian Tax Office and Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission status, allowing it to receive tax-deductible donations that support its ongoing work. The Institute is committed to improving eye health both locally in Tasmania and globally through research, education, and community service.
