About Dunsborough Toy Library and Its Work
“`html
Dunsborough Toy Library is a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation dedicated to providing families with access to a diverse range of quality toys. Operating as part of the sharing economy model, the toy library enables members to borrow from over 400 unique toys for a two-week period with a low annual membership fee. This community-focused initiative promotes sustainable play practices whilst building meaningful connections amongst local families and supporting children’s developmental needs through accessible, affordable toy lending services.
Franken-Toys Creative Workshop
The Franken-Toys initiative represents Dunsborough Toy Library’s flagship creative activity, inviting participants to disassemble and reassemble old toys into imaginative new creations. Using stuffed animals, doll pieces, action figures, and figurines, alongside craft supplies including glue, tape, scissors, and screwdrivers, participants engage in hands-on toy customisation. This innovative workshop encourages creative reuse and sustainable play practices whilst fostering artistic expression and environmental consciousness amongst community members.
