The Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation Jabiru Town (GACJT) is a pivotal entity that holds the township lease over Jabiru. Supported by the National Indigenous Australians Agency and the Northern Territory government, GACJT manages sub-leases and licenses for the multitude of businesses and governmental services positioned in Jabiru. The organisation is primarily composed of members from the Mirarr People, who are the Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders of Jabiru. Their mission is to ensure that proceeds from the township lease aid in the Mirarr’s economic and community enhancement.

Mission and Vision

GACJT’s mission prioritises preserving the Mirarr culture and ensuring that the Bininj maintain authority over their land and Jabiru’s future. Aligning with the aspirations of its Traditional Owners, the vision of the Mirarr owners is to transform Jabiru into “a world-leading ecologically sustainable, economically, and socially vibrant community where traditional Aboriginal culture, all people and the natural environment flourish.”
