How This Charity Supports the Community

The Jack Beasley Fund Incorporated is a registered not-for-profit community organisation based on the Gold Coast, established in response to the tragic loss of 17-year-old Jack Beasley to knife violence. The organisation is dedicated to addressing the critical issue of youth violence, particularly knife crime, through education and advocacy. It aims to create safer communities by raising awareness and promoting behavioural change among young people.

Mission and Vision

The foundation’s mission is to prevent youth violence by educating young people about the dangers and consequences of carrying knives. It envisions a future where no family suffers the loss of a loved one to senseless acts of violence, and where youth make informed, positive choices that contribute to safer communities.

  • Advocate for legislative and policy changes to improve youth safety and reduce violent incidents.
  • Support victims, offenders, and their families by highlighting the broad impact of violence beyond the immediate incident.
  • Engage communities through events and campaigns that promote awareness and prevention.

  • Collaboration with police to provide legal information about knife laws and safety measures.

Jack Beasley Foundation: Turning Tragedy into Safer Communities

After their son Jack was murdered on 13th December 2019 due to knife violence, his parents established the Jack Beasley Foundation to prevent other families experiencing similar tragedy whilst keeping Jack’s memory alive.

The Foundation runs education programmes in high schools (grades 8-12), teaching students about knife violence ramifications and the snowball effect a single violent act has on countless lives. Students discuss these lessons with friends and families, creating community-wide conversations about safety.

After 18 months of advocacy, they achieved “Jack’s Law”—wanding powers for police. Combined with proposed legislation preventing knife sales to under-18s, these measures are making the Gold Coast safer for all families.
