Returned & Services League Geraldton Sub-branch

The Returned & Services League Geraldton Sub-branch is a community-based organisation dedicated to supporting veterans, serving members of the Australian Defence Forces, and their families in the Geraldton region. Established by returned soldiers after the Gallipoli campaign, it has a long history of fostering camaraderie, remembrance, and welfare for those who have served their country.

Mission and Vision

The sub-branch’s mission is to provide welfare, advocacy, and support services to ex-service personnel and their dependants, ensuring their well-being and recognition within the community. Its vision is to maintain the spirit of ANZAC through commemoration, education, and community engagement, preserving the legacy of service and sacrifice for future generations.

Main Objectives

• Conducting commemorative services such as ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day, and Vietnam Veterans Day to honour those who served.
• Providing welfare assistance and support to veterans and their families, including help with compensation and care.
• Maintaining a strong community presence through social activities and educational programs.
• Preserving military history and heritage, notably through the Birdwood Military Museum.
• Promoting patriotism and camaraderie among members and the wider community.
