The mission of the Murgon Sub-Branch is to provide comprehensive welfare support, advocacy, and community engagement for veterans and their families, ensuring their sacrifices are honoured and their needs met. Its vision is to maintain a respectful and supportive environment where veterans receive the recognition, assistance, and social connection they deserve, while also promoting public awareness of their contributions and preserving their legacy.

Main Objectives

• Provide welfare assistance to veterans, their dependants, and the wider community, including support for mental health, pension claims, and hospital or home visits.
• Advocate for veterans’ rights and entitlements through engagement with Federal, State, and Local Governments.
• Conduct and support commemorative events such as ANZAC Day, Vietnam Veterans Day, Remembrance Day, and Victory in the Pacific Day.
• Offer transport to medical appointments for veterans and families without Department of Veterans Affairs assistance.
• Provide funeral support including the solemn Poppy Service to honour deceased veterans.
• Maintain and display a significant collection of military memorabilia to educate and engage the community.
• Support social inclusion and wellbeing through the Welfare Drop-In Centre, offering a venue for meetings, social occasions, and community activities.
