The Sri Lankan Catholic Association of South Australia Inc. is a registered charity and incorporated association that serves the Sri Lankan Catholic community in Adelaide. Established in 2008, it began as a small group of families united by faith and prayer and has since grown into a vibrant organisation that nurtures both spiritual and cultural heritage. The association provides a welcoming space for Sri Lankan Catholics to practice their faith, celebrate their traditions, and support one another in a multicultural Australian context.

Mission and Vision

The association’s mission is to foster a strong sense of community among Sri Lankan Catholics in South Australia by promoting faith in Christ and preserving Sri Lankan Catholic cultural values. Its vision is to be a beacon of spiritual growth, cultural enrichment, and social support, helping members thrive in their faith and cultural identity while contributing positively to the wider community.

Main Objectives

• Provide regular liturgical activities such as monthly Mass, catechism classes for children, novenas, and special Lenten programs.
• Support the spiritual development of children, youth, and adults through faith formation and community engagement.
• Preserve and promote Sri Lankan Catholic cultural heritage through social and cultural events.
• Assist new migrants in their settlement and integration into South Australian society.
• Engage in charitable activities and fundraising to support those in need both locally and in Sri Lanka.

• Annual social and cultural events such as the 6-A-Side Cricket Tournament, Family Fun Day, and Little Town of Bethlehem Christmas celebration.
• Community projects including carer packs for families affected by COVID-19, donations to local charities, and educational scholarships for victims of tragedies in Sri Lanka.
• Representation of the Sri Lankan Catholic community in multicultural events organised by the Adelaide Archdiocese.
