The Sargood Foundation is a dedicated Australian charity committed to supporting people living with spinal cord injuries (SCI). It was established by a passionate community group to create and sustain Sargood on Collaroy, a world-first, purpose-built health and wellness resort designed specifically for individuals with SCI. This unique facility offers a welcoming environment where guests, their families, and carers can find respite, refreshment, and opportunities to regain confidence and independence.

Mission and Vision

The Foundation’s mission is to empower people affected by spinal cord injury to live life to the fullest by providing opportunities for social integration, learning, and active participation in their communities. Its vision is a world where all people living with SCI have the support and resources needed to achieve genuine independence and a rewarding quality of life.

Main Objectives

• Provide subsidised stays and travel grants to enable access to Sargood on Collaroy for those who cannot afford it, including older adults, children, and people living in rural and regional Australia.
• Facilitate the donation of adaptive equipment and maintain a state-of-the-art adaptive gym to enhance guests’ physical health and wellbeing.
• Support innovative programs that improve outcomes for families of people living with SCI, including emotional and practical assistance.
• Promote employment opportunities and skills development for people with spinal cord injuries through internship and vocational programs.
• Offer specialised camps and retreats such as Kids Camps and Golden Oldies Camps to build community and targeted support.
• Provide emergency funding to assist with essential equipment and accommodation needs during critical periods post-injury.

The Foundation primarily supports people living with spinal cord injury, their families, carers, and partners.
