Type 1 Diabetes Learning Centre Limited is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the management of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in Australian schools through education and training. Established by the Australian Paediatric Society (APS), it provides accessible, evidence-based e-learning courses designed to equip school staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to support students living with Type 1 Diabetes effectively and safely.

Main Objectives

• Develop and provide e-learning courses tailored for school staff at various competency levels, from essential care for all students to complex care for individual students with T1D.
• Promote adherence to internationally recognised clinical guidelines, particularly those from the International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD).
• Support schools in meeting workplace safety legislation related to managing Type 1 Diabetes.
• Facilitate collaboration among parents, medical teams, and educational staff to ensure comprehensive care for students with T1D.
• Raise awareness about the challenges faced by children with Type 1 Diabetes and advocate for improved training and resources in schools.
