Woodroffe Child Care Centre is a community-based, non-profit organisation dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing environment for children and their families. The Centre’s mission is to offer quality child care that respects each child’s unique abilities and social backgrounds, ensuring they develop a strong sense of identity and belonging. The Centre’s vision is to nurture relationships with families and the wider community to foster children’s overall development.

Objectives

Woodroffe Child Care Centre aims to create safe and engaging environments that enhance children’s learning, self-worth, and dignity. It strives to meet the standards of the National Quality Framework (NQF), consistently achieving a “Meeting” rating. The Centre focuses on developing individual growth through play-based learning, fostering skills in communication, creativity, and empathy.

Benefiting Groups

The Centre benefits children aged from 9 months to 5 years, divided into three rooms: Wombats, Wallabies, and Barramundi. It also supports families by collaborating with them to ensure positive educational outcomes. Engaging with the wider community, including local services and parents, is a key component of the Centre’s approach.

Services and Activities

Woodroffe Child Care Centre provides a range of services and activities aimed at holistic child development. The Centre offers music and yoga programs that promote cognitive and physical development. Children are encouraged to participate in gardening and cooking activities, enhancing their understanding of nature and nutrition. A significant emphasis is placed on natural resources and sustainability, with children exploring indoor and outdoor environments. The Centre is open from 7.00am to 5:30pm, providing healthy meals prepared in-house, featuring produce from the Centre’s own gardens.
